Due to my health i currently do not accept commissions that are longer than 3 pages long.

Q: How do I know if your commissions are open?A: This website will state if my commissions are OPEN or CLOSED. But I will also advertise my commissions on sites like Patreon, Blusky, Twitter, and FurAffinity. But if you are unsure or you want to know what my schedule is, just send a DM or an email.

Q: Do you have a waitlist?A: I do not currently have a waitlist. i open a specific amount of slots that i feel i can complete. my health is not the best and i make decisions about work based on that.

Q: are payment plans available?A: yes, but an initial payment for the sketch has to be made up front. depending on how big of a commission it is a longer payment plan can be discussed. NO payment below $100 will be eligible for a payment plan.

Q: When and How do i send my payment?A: the first payment is sent after the artist has confirmed they are ready to start the commission. this is after the conversation about what you'd like the commission to look like.There are two standard options you can choose between.Pay the full payment upfront. or pay the sketch fee of $35 and then as the process progress pay further payments at agreed upon intervals/dates.The payment will be sent through one of the following: PayPal (invoice) or Ko-Fi (buy a commission slot at the right pricing. accepts PayPal or card through Stripe payment).

Q: what about my privacy as a commissioner? can i be anonymous? can i commission a private commission?A: you do not have to disclose your real name throughout the process. If you prefer to stay anonymous PayPal might work better as a payment service (i haven’t checked if Stripe showcases names). but i also do not share my customers names in any capacity, unless they want me to include their username/public facing name when posting. you always have the right not to have it be shared.As for private commissions. i do take private commissions, but generally there is an additional fee to keep it private since i cannot make any revenue from it elsewhere.

Q: what do I need to prepare for my commission?A: you don’t have to prepare anything. you can commission and fully leave it to the artist if you want. you can commission the artist to draw their own characters in a situation you want, etc. you can also just have a rough idea of what you want and the artist will ask you questions.but if you want to prepare or like to have a bit more control you can provide visual references (photos, moodboards, similar drawings, character sheet), prepare a short summary of what you want to commission.TIPS: what does the character look like? (before and after, in each sequence etc, hair, stature, skin/fur color). what poses do you want? how do they feel?

Q: what happens if the customer cancels the commission?A: within my ToS agreement i have detailed what amount of the payment will be returned to the client based on where in the process the cancellation has occurred.Payment: do not pay for your commission by sending money outside of the invoice, or other agreed upon payment option. i will send the money back or count it as a tip depending on the payment method. so be careful.

Q: what equipment/programs do you use?A: i use a screen tablet and mainly work in clip studio paint. i also have access to Photoshop but only use it for graphic design and photo editing. the drawing process is done in CSP, and sometimes sketched in procreate on my (very old) ipad.

By commissioning me, you are stating that you have read and agreed to these terms.By purchasing and viewing content from me (sugared_roses) you are agreeing to being older than 18. The creator is in no way responsible for fraudulent behavior by the commissioner.The creator reserves the right to decline a commission on any grounds.

SECTION I. IMAGE COPYRIGHT

I, the artist, retain full and exclusive rights to the original artwork. The client may not claim it as their own or use it for anything other than personal use.All commissioned artwork is for noncommercial purposes only. Redistribution of my artwork as merchandise is prohibited. If you have any questions about this, ask me before commissioning me.Additional commercial or copyright rights can in some cases be discussed and added onto the initial invoice, or bought at a later date if the client changes their mind.Copyright pertaining to the clients original characters state that they belong to the client. The artist will NOT sell prints, or other commercial products with the client’s characters.

conditions for reposting

The client has my permission to repost the artwork wherever they would like, as long as proper credit is given and my signature remains intact and unaltered (unless otherwise specified). Commissioner can re-upload the image with credits given to myself in the form of a link to the artist’s general account or the artist’s upload of the piece.The artist reserves the right to upload commissions that depict original characters to their social media and websites, including Patreon. Commissions depicting private persons will be discussed with the client on where and if it is allowed and appropriate to upload it.

prohibited actions

Altering my artwork in any way without asking for permission beforehand, with the exception of cropping/resizing the image for an icon or other use.Using my artwork as part of your own, whether tracing or re-purposing parts of the image.Claiming the artwork as your own.Artwork cannot be used as or sold as an NFT or to train AI.If these terms are broken, you will be privately blacklisted from commissioning me and in some cases legal measures will be taken.

SECTION II. PAYMENT INFORMATION

The price displayed is in USD.Payment is either paid upfront, or divided into two separate payments; one of which will be paid prior to the artist starting the piece, while the second is paid at a scheduled time during the artistic process.Payment will be done through one of the artist approved sites (PayPal, Ko-Fi, Patreon), or through Stripe.Payment can be done in most currencies, but the artist reserves the right to deny any payment done with crypto currencies.Do not send money before the artist has agreed to take on the commission. This will happen after the artist has acknowledged the commission inquiry and responded to the commission through one of the agreed upon channels (email, private messaging on other websites such as Twitter, Blusky, Patreon, Ko-Fi, FurAffinity). An invoice will be sent, or the client will be instructed in how to pay through their chosen payment option.It is the commissioner's responsibility to tell the artist when the payment has been sent. (Sometimes a payment will not go through and I won't know about it. If you fail to tell me that you've sent the payment I can’t guarantee the commission spot.)

If the commission is canceled (by either artist or client) before work has started, then the client will receive a full refund.If the client cancels the commission during the process, the amount refunded will be on a case-by-case basis and up to the artist’s discretion.Rough basis for refunds (full color/render piece):

After second payment/progress check in 3: 0%No refunds will be given for completed or nearly completed commissions.The artist reserves the right to cancel a commission at any time, for any reason, and without explanation.If the cancellation of the commission is due to the artist’s inability to complete it, no matter at what stage of the process, a full refund will be given.

SECTION III. CONTACT AND COMMUNICATION

Communication can be conducted via email ([email protected]), or social media like FurAffinity (sugaredroses), Patreon messages (Sugared Roses), Discord (sugaredroses), Blusky (sugaredroses.bsky.social) and Twitter (@sugared_roses).

SECTION IV. WORKFLOW PROCESS

The artist works best when given some artistic freedom to create an image based on the references and instructions provided.The artist is happy to match a scene or pose that the commissioner has in mind, but please allow and expect some variation.

estimated date of completion

The artist is currently undergoing rehab for a neurological condition and their health can therefore fluctuate. If there are any delays in completion of a commission, the artist will personally notify the customer.Completion of most standard commissions (one image) are generally estimated to take roughly 1 month from start to finish. If for any reason the artist cannot complete a standard commission within 90 days of ordering, they will issue a full refund.

Certain commission types may or may not include a sketch approval stage. The artist will send any WIPs to the commissioner in a message through the agreed upon messaging service. Progress will be paused until the sketch is confirmed.

revisions and edits

If the commission type includes a sketch approval stage, any major changes or revisions must be made at this stage; this includes any significant changes to a character’s pose or body shape, or redrawing parts of the image.After the sketch has been approved, no major edits or changes will be made (there will be some things that do not apply, skin color, hair texture, and detailing will have further editing approval stages later in the process). If the commissioner requests additional edits after the approved sketch, a price for the edits may be discussed.There is no set limit to how many edits will be made, but the artist reserves the right to decline to continue with edits if they become excessive. If the client still wants to pursue edits after that there will be additional fees.If the artist makes any errors in the character design, accessories, or any other visual elements specified in the provided visual references, they will make these edits at no additional cost.
